"The Funniest Show You'll Ever be a Part of."- Boston Feature #Inbound
The Improv Asylum - 216 Hanover St, Boston, MA 02113
Distance from Convention Center: 2.9 miles or an 8 min cab ride.
The Improv Asylum is a theater that has hilarious improvisation and sketch comedy. The vibe is described, as a Whose Line is it Anyway? Meets Saturday Night Live! Located in the heart of the North End, it has easy access to public transportation and is within walking distance of the popular tourist attraction Faneuil Hall. They have done more than 6000 shows for over 2 million people and have performed for big networks and in states all over the U.S.
The Improv Asylum started in 1998 with some enthused comedians who wanted to have their own performance space. What began as a basement theater (and still is) underwent a huge renovation in 2010.
The great thing about being in the basement is that even though it is pretty easy to get to as far as location in the city, it is kind of hidden and most people hear about it through word of mouth.
This is definitely not a touristy spot but a Boston gem nonetheless. There are shows being performed at least 6 nights a week.
So come down to the basement and catch a show!
